Welcome to a community where disabled veterans come together through hockey. Whether you're stepping onto the ice for the first time or returning to the game, you'll find teammates who understand, support, and encourage one another every step of the way.

Warrior Learn To Play

NEW TO HOCKEY?

 Never played hockey? Never skated? That’s okay.


OC Warrior Hockey welcomes disabled veterans with no previous hockey or skating experience. You do not need to know how to skate, own hockey equipment, or understand the game before getting started.


Our Warrior Learn to Play program is designed to introduce new players to hockey in a supportive environment. You will learn the basics of skating, stopping, stickhandling, passing, shooting, positioning, and game play while progressing at your own pace.


Warrior Learn to Play is also a great way to return to the game if you played hockey when you were younger but have been away from the sport for years.


This is not a tryout. Our goal is to help disabled veterans get on the ice, build confidence, stay active, and experience the physical and mental benefits of hockey.


INTERESTED IN LEARNING TO PLAY?


We do not currently have a Warrior Learn to Play session scheduled. Once we have enough interested veterans, we can schedule a new Learn to Play session.

WARRIOR HOCKEY DIVISIONS

Warrior Hockey uses skill divisions to help create competitive and appropriately matched games. OC Warrior Hockey uses the following general progression:


Rookie → Tin → Copper → Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum/Elite


Rookie is for newer players who have progressed beyond Learn to Play and are beginning organized game play.

Tin is an entry-level division for developing players with basic hockey skills and game experience.

Copper is for developing recreational players with increased skating ability, puck control, and understanding of the game.

Bronze is an intermediate recreational level for experienced players with established skating and hockey skills.

Silver is an advanced recreational level with faster game play and stronger overall hockey skills.

Gold is a high-level competitive division for highly skilled and experienced players.

Platinum/Elite represents the highest level of Warrior Hockey competition and is generally appropriate for players with significant high-level hockey experience.
